Tackling Local Challenges

In Poland, farmers are not prepared to face ongoing changes in the milk market. They need entrepreneurship skills in a range of areas, from cost production to farm management. Young people, meanwhile, are reluctant to work on farms they see as offering no potential for professional development.

How does it work?

With the support of Danone Ecosystem, Danone Poland and Fundacja Trop, the New Farming Generation project empowers selected family farms to gain entrepreneurship skills and share their knowledge and experience among their communities. Hard skills are provided by expert moderators from various backgrounds (universities, agricultural schools, advisors).

By supporting the development of family dairy farming, Danone Poland ensures its product quality and reinforces its long term sourcing. The project also contributes to local economic development, thereby combating rural migration.

The project is now independent and has been handed over in 2017.
