France’s population is ageing rapidly: over 25% of the population is currently aged 60 or older, and this will rise to 33% by 2030. This demographic shift is closely linked to increasing dependency and loss of autonomy, with 1.95 million people already affected—a figure projected to reach 2.35 million by 2027 and 3.99 million by 2050.
Moreover, 1 in 3 people over 65 experiences a fall each year, highlighting growing risks of fragility and social isolation. These challenges not only impact individuals’ autonomy and quality of life, but also place mounting pressure on the healthcare system, as the need for home assistance and support is expected to increase by 60% over the next 30 years. Innovative solutions will be essential to meet these needs and ensure sustainable care for both individuals and the health and social care system.
CARMEN is a multimodal prevention program co-created with and for ageing people. It aims to preserve autonomy and improve quality of life by empowering individuals to take control of their health and quality of life. The program is built on three pillars: enjoyable nutrition, physical activity, and social connection.
With support from Danone Ecosystem and in partnership with Siel Bleu, CARMEN builds on our legacy of successful ageing projects. It offers personalized support through:
