Tackling Local Challenges

In the early 2010s, limited knowledge and monitoring of toddler nutrition in France, along with only partial adherence to feeding recommendations, revealed gaps in caregiver practices and a poor understanding of children’s nutritional needs. As a result, meals provided in daycare settings were not always adapted to meet these needs.

How does it work?

In 2012, the Danone Ecosystem Fund, together with  its partners La Maison Kangourou, L’Annexe du Kangourou and Blédina France, launched the Bien Nourrir Nos Bébés project. It created new daycare centers and a baby nutrition cooking center, providing practical support to parents and early childhood professionals through cooking classes and digital tools. Daycare professionals were also trained on children’s specific nutritional needs at each stage of their development.

The project was handed over in 2017 and has since become independent.
