During our visit to Romania, we had the privilege of meeting Ana and capturing her powerful testimony.
For nearly a decade, Ana has been an advocate for Women and Children Rights. Her passion lies in promoting breastfeeding as she observed “healthy babies without issues were not immediately placed on the mother’s breast.“
Blooming from a common ambition to stand by parents and support women’s choice of breastfeeding, we joined forces back in 2013 with Ana’s Foundation – White Cross, HealthCare Professionals and key organizations to design a project with the goal of increasing breastfeeding initiation and duration rates, while advancing exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months.
A decade has passed, and SAMAS continues to be a catalyst for change. Elena and Denisia’s testimonies, as mothers who received support from the project, are living testament of this positive impact. Elena shared: “I successfully exclusively breastfed my baby for 7 months.”
A change that has been possible thanks to the commitment of thousand of Health Care Professionals like Mirella that we discover in the video, as they are specialized to inform and educate mothers and other caregivers about appropriate and optimal infant feeding.
The success of this project lies in the public-private partnership involving parents, committed health workers and organizations such as the Asociatia samas, Nutricia, Danone , White cross Foundation, Red Cross Organization Sector 6, IOMC, Ministry of health.
